Snow Forecast Issued: 2008-10-19 13:00:00
Next Forecast: 2008-10-26 13:00:00

Synopsis
The Christmas period is still expected to be cool and showery, and generally unsettled. LOW pressure close to the UK will provide a west-northwest airflow, bringing showers most frequent to western areas. Snow cannot be ruled out, but currently any snow would most likely be restricted to the Mountains of Scotland and perhaps the Pennines. However In Scotland wintry precipitation is possible at lower levels also. Temperatures are expected to range from 3-6C in the North and 4-8C further south, perhaps peaking at 10C in the southwest. To summarise, a cool and showery Christmas period is expected with snow mainly confined to higher ground in Scotland. Snow is currently not expected elsewhere.
