25% Chance of a white Christmas
Snow Forecast Issued: 2008-11-23 00:00:00
Next Forecast: 2008-11-26 00:00:00
Synopsis
The Christmas period is expected to be fairly cool and mainly settled. HIGH pressure is forecast to the north of the country, bringing northeasterly winds. Therefore, mainly dry conditions are currently expected for much of the country on Christmas Day, with frequent showers in the east. The driest weather will be in the south and west. Snow is possible therefore on hills in northern and eastern areas exposed to the northeasterly winds, with a higher chance over the mountains of Scotland. Temperatures are forecast to range from 3-6C in the North, and 5-9C in the South. In general, a cool but quiet Christmas is expected, with snow possible down northern and eastern coasts.
