Synopsis
A Polar Maritime blast is expected to affect the UK during Sunday. Showers will initially fall as rain over the Mountains, but during the day these will begin to turn wintry with the higher mountains perhaps seeing some Moderate and Frequent Snow Showers. Anywhere down to about 500m may see something wintry. With strong winds swinging from West to Northwest it will make it feel bitterly cold in the mountains. Some accumulations are expected especially on higher peaks with perhaps a few centimetres on the peaks. Caution is vital in the mountains on Sunday due to sub zero temperatures, strong winds with Heavy Snow in places. It will also be very slippery underfoot especially after any snow.
