Synopsis
Tuesday is expected to be quite an Unsettled Day with a Warm Front and Cold Front producing a band of precipitation which then moves South East across the Country on Tuesday. For many, this will fall as snow with perhaps an hour two (at the most) hours of snow before clearing and fragmenting after leaving the Midlands. 5-10cm may fall across the Highlands in the early hours, with 1-5cm possible elsewhere in the Moderate Snow region. Some places in the Light snow region may see a dusting but by the time it gets to the southeast it should be mostly of rain or sleet, with a small threat of hill snow. One thing we are keeping an eye on is the arrival of this band during the morning rush hour, which could cause tricky driving conditions. It will also be very cold on Tuesday with a slow thaw of snow expected. Caution is advised on Tuesday for many and leaving extra time for the Rush hour journey is advised. Another area of rain, perhaps preceded by snow, will arrive in the southwest late on Tuesday evening - we may issue updates nearer the time on this event.
