Synopsis
Thursday will bring a cool north/northwesterly airflow to many with scattered mainly light showers affecting the North and North East of Scotland. Showers will be mostly of rain below 900m but above this, particularly later in the day they may turn more wintry for a time. A light covering is possible in places. Some parts may stay dry during the daylight hours. During the evening a more organised band of rain will push southwards but the leading edge may bring some snow to the higher parts of the mountains before turning to sleet then rain. Any coverings will not last for long so conditions should not be too tricky though a brisk wind may add to the wind chill effect.
