Synopsis
A band of rain will push through during the day. Mostly over the Cairngorms above approximately 1000m, precipitation may be of sleet or snow for a time before turning more to rain by the afternoon. There may be a few occasional heavier bursts aswell and with strong and locally gale force winds, there maybe temporary tricky conditions high up in the mountains for a while. However the strong winds will mainly add to quite a severe wind chill. Parts of the Highlands may see some wintriness on the very tops of the mountains for a short while but seems at less risk than over the Cairngorms. Temporary coverings are possible in the morning over the tops of the mountains but should melt away during the afternoon.
