The recent cold blast from the East will soon transfer to a renewed blast from the North/North West during Saturday thanks to a cold front bringing with it about 2 hours of Snow for many which could be heavy at times. For many this should be of snow but towards the West of Wales, Much of northern Ireland and South West England, a wintry mix is more likely with sleet and snow perhaps resrved for more higher ground and at the back edge of the front. The front will work its way south through the day reaching the Midlands in the evening and Southern England into the Early hours of Sunday. Some 2-6cm is likely quite widely but upto 10cm is possible on higher ground and where snow is generally heavier. Thre snow maybe lighter towards the South of the UK but this is only a chance. For much of the day though many will have a dry and very cold day, particularly for England and Wales but the cold front will eventually arrive.A few light snow showers are possible in Wales and parts of of the North for a few time but these will be well scattered.
Conditions will be tricky in the snow with Ice perhaps becoming severe after the front has passed and temperatures plummet. Unnecessary travel should be avoided during the snow. Check local travel agencies for the latest information in your area. UKASF will issue an update if necessary.
