Synopsis
An occluded front will push slowly eastwards during the early hours and throughout the morning across England and Wales. This will bring a period of rain, locally heavy, accompanied by strong, locally gale force, winds. The front should clear the southeast and East Anglia by late afternoon. Behind the front showers will develop quickly and quite widely during Sunday, with gusty winds at times, across England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland and southern Scotland. The showers are likely to be heavy, locally torrential, with some hail, thunder and lightning possible. They will also be fairly frequent and widespread in places. Eastern Scotland may stay cloudy with light rain for much of the day, however Western Scotland should be mainly dry and much brighter. Most of the showers should ease in the evening, especially after sunset, but a few will continue for much of the night, with the winds gradually easing.
