Synopsis

An area of LOW pressure situated to the southwest of the United Kingdom will dominate the weather on Friday. Behind a northeastward-moving cold front, scattered heavy showers and local thunderstorms will develop as a result of daytime heating across central and southern Britain. Hail and local torrential downpours are possible.

Any showers should decay during the late afternoon and early evening across most areas, although will persist across southwest England where they will become increasingly elevated and lighter during the night.
