Synopsis
An occlusion over the Northern Isles and an advancing warm front approaching from the southwest. An occlusion is likely to bring a few showers to western Scotland during Friday, and during the afternoon these may contain some hail and thunder. There is a risk of a weak tornado or funnel cloud to develop. A few showers are also likely to develop across Northern Ireland and one or two in Northern England also. In the south, cloud will increase ahead of a band of rain moving into Devon and Cornwall during the late morning, and other southern counties of England during the late afternoon. This is not expected to be thundery. Most showers will die away overnight, but a few may continue to the north of Scotland and the main band of rain in the south will continue its slow progress northwards.
